Product details
Choukabara 7X7, is a traditional Indian board game, is played on a 7X7 grid. The pawns are moved based on the outcome of rolling cowrie shells or dice. Each roll results in a specific number of moves, determined by how the shells land (typically, open side up counts as one point).
Â
Players move their pawns forward on the board, starting from their house and progress in a counterclockwise direction. Pawns must complete a circuit and enter the second row; the pawn can enter the second row only after dismissing an opponent's pawn. Follow the directions of the pawn as shown in the picture. If a pawn lands on a square occupied by an opponent's pawn, the opponent's pawn is captured and sent back to the starting point. Strategy is key in deciding which pawn to move.
Â
There are 3 bonus points in the game, A) when 4 cowries open upside, B) When 4 cowries are all closed and C. When an opponent is dismissed. The opponent gets dismissed only in the empty houses and not the one with the art work. The houses with the artwork are safe houses where the opponents can co-exist without dismissal.
Â
The first player who takes all his/her pawns to the centre square is the winner.
